Cold Toes on Warm Shins Title:Cold Toes on Warm Shins Pairing: Scorpius Malfoy/Al Potter Rating:PG-13 Disclaimer:I own nothing and make no profit. Word Count:222 A/N:for 7spells 'cold hands, cold feet' Summery: Scorpius never learned to share as a child. Al's childhood was so different.
Scorpius grew up alone, tossing and turning in a bed far too big for one person let alone a child, surrounded by toys he never wanted but was given because his father knew no other way to show his love. He never shared. Never bumped shoulders with someone and playfully shoved them back while helping prepare dinner, learning social skills no etiquette teacher can teach. To be pressed up against Al at night, his bony knee pressed into the other boy’s thigh is strange and oddly heart-breaking. He feels he should already know these feelings. There should have been sleepovers, camping trips and all the other things Al tells him about his childhood. Scorpius should have had more of the things his father’s money could never have bought him. Only now does he learn what it means to have cold hands in his, to be nearly asleep and then jolted awake by the touch of cold toes brushing against his shin. It all painfully innocent given the opportunity they are presented with. The Potters have cousins staying too and Ginny forgot to conjure another bed before going to sleep. Al promised it didn’t matter and pulled Scorpius under his own set of covers. They hold hands and do nothing more while Scorpius has hazy dreams of how different things might have been.
